We are currently seeking an Indigenous Recruitment Specialist to work with our Indigenous Business Development and Recruitment teams with a focus on increasing Indigenous employment opportunities with Indigenous communities, businesses, and organizations. 

Preference may be given to a candidate who identifies as Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit, or Métis).  This position can be locally based in the Calgary office or remote anywhere in Canada working on Mountain Standard Time (MST) zone.  Indigenous candidates who reside and work on First Nations land may be tax exempt.

The successful applicant will have recruitment and placement experience with administrative and technical positions ranging from junior to senior executive levels, for a broad range of clients.  This position requires an outgoing personality, a can-do attitude, organizational skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. 

Job Description:

  • Full cycle recruitment; posting jobs, sourcing, screening, pre-employment screening, interviewing, and on-boarding
  • Negotiating job offers, contract terms, and other employment related conditions
  • Developing job descriptions, advertisements, and other related documents
  • Prepare and write candidate profiles and present to prospective client
  • Revamp resume’s and provide interview and employment coaching
  • Hiring for all positions including temporary, contract and/or permanent
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with clients and candidates
  • Assisting in business development for new contracts and job orders
  • Manage applicant database to track applicants, review resumes, and move candidates through hiring pipeline
  • Represent Spirit Staffing at career fairs, trade shows, events, and online through social media
  • Attend and participate in events for networking and business development
  • Supporting the rest of the recruitment team when required

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years full-cycle recruitment experience with strong staffing and/or customer service experience
  • Previous involvement with Indigenous organizations and communities is an asset.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to build and strong relationships with people at all levels of an organization
  • Must be authorized to legally work in Canada
  • Positive working attitude with exceptional organizational and leadership skills
