Our well established Oil and Gas client is seeking a experienced Machinery Engineer in Fort McMurray, AB.

Please note that this position is located in Fort McMurray, AB and local candidates are preferred. Non-local candidates will be considered but must be willing to secure their own accommodations, as there is no camp, LOA, or accommodation allowance provided.

Scope of Responsibility:

  • Provide general machinery (rotating equipment) engineering support for Equipment Strategies,
  • Risk Base Work Selection, Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), scope writing.
  • Apply machinery engineering technology and tools to support equipment class programs
  • Provide machinery engineering Non Process Quality Control (NPQC) support to capital projects
  • Develop mechanical specifications for machinery equipment (pumps, conveyors, generators, etc.)
  • Wear analysis and equipment health monitoring of rotating equipment.
  • Identify, initiate and monitor reliability improvements and solutions to bad actors
  • Track and report equipment class metrics
  • Drive multidisciplinary machinery programs to improve equipment reliability

  • Minimum 5 years of field experience in an operating facility troubleshooting rotating equipment problems and providing short and long term solutions to increase the reliability and availability of the equipment.

Must have experience with the following equipment at a minimum:

  • Slurry, pumps, fans, gearboxes and motors.
  • Experience with material handling equipment and screw compressors would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in Root Cause Failure Analysis for rotating equipment.
  • Hydraulic systems experience would be an asset.
  • Membership in the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of
  • Alberta (APEGA) as a Professional Engineer
