Our well established Oil and Gas client is seeking a High Voltage Engineer, Intermediate Level in Calgary, AB.

The successful candidate for this role will demonstrate a high sense of personal accountability and ownership for the execution of their duties.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Support Asset Performance Management team for Electrical Transmission and Distribution Assets to develop Static and Dynamic asset health indices for HV equipment including power transformers, cables, and switchgears.
  • Drawing and data retrieval from eB, SAP and network drives to assist Engineering consultants and model development team of the project
  • Review document developed by the Engineering consultant of the project against both and the applicable industrial standards. This includes electrical drawings, layouts, cable schedules, IFR and IFC document, project execution plan, Construction Work Packages, commissioning document, and any other project related document.
  • Review vendor drawings and documents
  • Work with Supply Chain Management team, the engineering consulting company, and the project manager to develop and/or review Material Requisition forms, technical and commercial bid evaluations, and all procurement processes
  • Develop Scope of Work and RFQ document, and work with Supply Chain Management during bidding process to identify the third-party contractor(s)
  • Assist the project manager to provide all requirements of KMS-MOC for the project execution, developing and updating project schedule, cost estimates, project and construction risks, scope of work, RFQ document and project progress report developments
  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems
  • Provide supports to the construction team during the field execution (Some travel to sites required)
  • Manage and organize inspection information including maintenance check sheets, SAP’s PM records, electrical testing results
  • Develop master data including SAP structure, Equipment Strategy Data Sheet (ESDS), criticality files and maintenance procedures and check sheets for the new APM-T&D assets
  • Support project team in review of APM-T&D model developed in GE- Meridium platform to ensure the model integrity and the quality and provide recommendations for the improvement
  • Create dashboarding for T&D asset health indicators using PI vision
  • Ensure APM deliverables aligns with the internal client requirements
  • Leverage industry experience, equipment knowledge, software know-how, and customer satisfaction skills to deliver world class experience within the scope of APM-T&D project.
  • Contribute into the reliability strategies, inspection, process and procedural development and execution.
  • Perform data validation, review data for accuracy, and cleanse data for migration

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with 4-6 years of experience in High and Medium Voltage power system network
  • EIT or P. Eng. status with APEGA is preferred
  • Good knowledge of High and medium voltage equipment in the substations including power transformers, switchgears, breakers, protection and control and cables
  • Familiar with instrumentation and control systems including SCADA, RTUs, Communication protocols
  • Great communication skills including technical report writing skills
  • Project engineering experience and familiar with all stages of project
  • MS project software experience is an asset
  • Experience with data base and dealing with significant amount of data
  • Knowledge in risk ranking and failure modes of the medium and high voltage electrical equipment
  • Experience in Oil & Gas or utility companies
