Firewall Engineer

Engineering & Technical - Remote - Contracted

Overview 

Location: Remote        

Duration: 12 Months.  

Language: English.
 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Work on assigned issues or tasks related to firewall OS configurations
  • Work on assigned issues or tasks related new or existing rule implementations
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives which drive efficiency and improvement within the GTS Firewall Management Service.
  • You will provide engineering support for firewalls on multiple platforms across the global infrastructure; lead engineering projects to completion working with other teams and vendors; and deliver successful deployments according to architectural standards. 
  • Assist with security audits and remediation of security-related issues.
  • Bring problems to a resolution within a timely manner and escalate complex technical issues.
  • Ensure firewall services and systems are always available and reliable.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN and network protocols
  • Bachelor’s degree/college diploma in computer science or equivalent industry experience
  • 4-10 years of experience in information technology and cyber security
  • Knowledge of Check Point OS, rules and advanced troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of Palo Alto OS, rules and advanced troubleshooting
  • Previous experience with SNMP monitoring using tools like Orion
  • Previous experience setting up and troubleshooting NETFLOW on Checkpoint & or Palo Alto
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools and commands to ensure quick resolution to issues
  • Knowledge of Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) technologies, specifically Prisma
