We are currently seeking a FULL-TIME (Monday through Friday) Journeyperson QA/QC Instrument Technician : MUST HAVE shop/manufacturing EXPERIENCE. Must have significant experience with hydro/pneumatic testing instrument tubing systems.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Journeyperson status in the Instrument Technician field.
Previous experience in shop and manufacturing with new product manufacturing.
Previous QA/QC experience in Oil and Gas sector manufacturing and/or field construction operations.
Previous experience with pneumatic and hydrostatic testing or pressurized systems and components.
Competence in use of testing equipment (gap gauges, pressure gauges, chart recorders, PSVs, compressed gasses, etc).
Computer literacy and competence with MS Office applications and standard office equipment.
Ability to read and interpret design drawings (P&ID, ISO, GA, etc.)
Experience with tube bending and the installation of pressure fittings, instruments, and devices.
Perform QA/QC inspection and testing of fabricated systems and components following applicable design drawings, BOMs, client specifications, regulatory codes, and industry/trade best practices.
Only use current, approved versions of drawings/BOMs, design specifications, and applicable quality forms/documents.
Inspect and verify correct specification, placement, orientation and connection of all system components (tubing, piping, fittings, instruments, devices, etc).
Perform required QA inspection, function and hydrostatic/pneumatic pressure tests in accordance with client QA/QC specifications/requirements and applicable regulatory codes (e.g. ASME B31.3 - Process Piping).
Ensure effective measures are taken to ensure the safety of all workers during inspections and pressure testing (e.g. test area isolation, physical shielding, ventalation, gas monitors, restricted access signage/barriers).
Identify sub-standard workmanship, non-conformances, design/component discrepancies and other quality issues and report such immediately to supervisor (this applies to both finished product and work in progress).
Complete all required internal and client QA/QC documentation (QA checklists, Pressure Test Reports, Calibration Certificates, As-built Drawings, etc) and forward complete QA?QC package to Production Manager.
Take comprehensive set of QA photos of unfinished product and forward these to Production Manager.
Consult supervisor when unclear about any design/construction specifications or quality policy/procedure.
Keep QA/QC work area clean and well organized (materials, tools, test equipment, QA/QC files, etc).
Ensure all test equipment is maintained in good working order and within certified calibration period if applicable.
Be familiar with and follow applicable policies and procedures in the workplace's ISO-QMS and ABSA-QMS manuals.
Assist production personnel with fabrication duties as required.
Conduct all dealings with fellow colleagues, clients, or suppliers in a respectful and professional manner.
Fully comply with all established safety rules, policies, and procedures.
Assist Production Manager as requested with mentoring and training of production and QA personnel.
